I had never known that just under two hours’ drive away along the coast of Norfolk, around December-January time, you can see seals. Lots of them. It was the last day of 2013 and even if chilly, rainy and grey, I thought in the UK one would never get to do anything if waiting for favourable weather so might as well go see some seals!
Because the seals have pups at this time, the seal wardens on Horsey Beach didn’t allow people to leave the grassy banks. So we just spotted from a slight distance away. Fascinating, nevertheless! And then, fleeing to the warmth of Sprowston Manor. A fine, even if grey and cloudy, end to the year.
