Book sculptures in the round church

image

In Cambridge there’s a beautiful little church, which many tourists visit for its unusual round shape. Deciding to pop in for a general look with my visitor from Finland, I made a wonderful chance discovery: some sculptural works by the Romanian artist Liviu Mocan were on display in the church’s entrance call, forming an exhibition called ‘Vertical Libraries’. I was immediately impressed – what utterly fantastic book art! Ingeniously thought out and finely executed. It’s a shame my quick iPhone snaps don’t do justice to these sculptures but I’ll include them here anyway so you’ll get at least a little peak into these beautiful art works. I love serendipitous coincidences like this, coming across such inspiring sculptures in quite an usual place.
