DESCRIPTION

This tiny little scroll book took part in a juried art exhibition here in the UK, being paired with a miniature codex book and displayed with the title "Mythos & Logos". This is the Mythos part of the pair, in scroll format (which historically preceded our familiar Western book structure). This scroll has two layers, one of reindeer leather, the other paper. The paper part includes meditative blessings expressed in flourishing asemic writing, done in black ink, with added details in gold ink. This scroll has a braid wrap for keeping it close. The small Quartz clasp slips under the wrapped braid when closing the scroll. Now in wearable form, this scroll makes for a highly unusual pendant, perhaps more for meditative or ritual use, or an anchor for what you prefer to focus on.

"This scroll, representing Mythos, evokes the timeless tradition of myth-making and oral storytelling, embodying the creative and intuitive facets of human culture. Myths are the narratives through which societies have historically made sense of the world, blending imagination with the mysteries of existence. The scroll’s form, unfurling like an ancient tale, invites you to reconnect with the collective unconscious and the foundational stories that shape our perception of reality. The scroll has been inscribed with asemic writing, referring to a language that cannot be logically understood but rather felt through innate ancient knowing that resides within us all."

The outer measurements of the scroll are 3 cm (1.2") thick when closed and  The driftwood core of the scroll, including both pewter ends is 9 cm (3.5") wide (or tall, when opening the length of the scroll). The layered leather and paper in the scroll is 4.5 cm (1.8") in size and it opens out to a long length of just over 40 cm (15.5").

This scroll necklace comes in a reindeer leather pouch which has a diameter of 9 cm (3.5") when empty and closed. The pouch is decorated with asemic writing across the surface, and it has a decorative drawstring cord stopper consisting of Black Tourmaline, Verdelite, African Turquoise Jasper and Prehnite crystals.
