Only purchase this if you are able to take special care in handling this item, as the responsibility lies with you to not accidentally cut yourself with this. Obsidian is volcanic glass, so handling this piece requires same care as sharp pieces of broken glass. Only this isn't broken, but shaped ('knapped') by hand to create the sharpness. This blade could be set in a handle, if wanting to complete an athame (ritual knife tool for magic workings).
