DESCRIPTION

I make these pouches out of vegetable-tanned, chrome-free reindeer hide which originates from the Finnish Lapland. I’m from Finland myself, although now live and work in the UK. So there is a native connection for me in working with this leather. My view is that as the reindeer hides are a byproduct of the food trade in Finland, by putting my time, effort and intention into creating artful items with this material, I honour the spirit of this beautiful animal. As did the shamans of old, known to name their witch drum 'Sacred Reindeer' when the drum was made with reindeer hide.

That said, there is also an option available to have your pouch in cork fabric ('vegan leather') - please see the last photo.

You can have this pouch with or without a wooden rune disk. If you opt for the rune detail, here's some info about that:
I have aged the drawstring beechwood stopper with botanical eco dye of local plants. It has an Elder Futhark rune on each side, accented with five gemstone beads: Golden Sheen Obsidian, Larvikite, Smokey Quartz, Picture Jasper and Lava Stone. I can either select two runes at random to engrave on your piece, or you can personalise your pouch by letting me know which two runes you'd like on the wooden disk.

You'll also get to choose the upgraded drawstring cord instead of the plain cotton cord if you wish. For the braided cord, you can choose a colour detail: the cord that wraps the brown cotton cord can be your chosen colour.
